Who owns my comic?
You do. Comics Authority does not take ownership of your work. You grant Comics Authority a non-exclusive license to host, distribute, display, and promote accepted work.
Can I publish my comic somewhere else?
Yes. The license is non-exclusive, so you may continue publishing, selling, or licensing your work elsewhere.
How much does it cost to join?
There is no fee to submit a comic or participate in the Creator Program.
How long does approval take?
Most submissions are reviewed within 5 to 10 business days. Complex submissions or periods of high volume may take longer.
Are digital comics free?
Yes. Accepted digital editions are currently offered as free downloads unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
How do print sales work?
Approved creators may offer print editions when they can reliably fulfill United States orders. Comics Authority retains $1.00 per printed copy sold, and the remaining eligible print revenue is credited to the creator.
When are creators paid?
Creators are paid quarterly on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1, regardless of the amount earned. If a payment date falls on a weekend or banking holiday, payment is processed on the next business day.
Do I need to send a physical review copy?
Comics Authority may request one before activating a print listing. The creator is responsible for the cost of sending the verification copy.
Will Comics Authority promote my comic?
Accepted work may be featured, but promotion is never guaranteed. Creators remain primarily responsible for building and reaching their own audience.
Can AI-assisted comics be submitted?
Yes. AI-assisted and traditionally created comics are welcome. Creators must accurately disclose AI use and must have the rights needed to publish every element of the work.
Can Comics Authority reject or remove a comic?
Yes. Comics Authority may reject, suspend, or remove work for editorial, legal, ownership, fulfillment, safety, fraud, or policy reasons.
Who should I contact with a question?
Use the contact page for questions about submissions, account access, payments, downloads, or print orders.
