Eligibility
You confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to submit the work and enter into this agreement.
Ownership and Rights
You retain ownership of your work. You confirm that you control all rights necessary to submit, publish, distribute, market, promote, and sell the work as requested through Comics Authority.
Non-Exclusive License
If accepted, you grant Comics Authority a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, reproduce, display, distribute, publish, market, promote, and make the accepted work available through the platform. You may continue publishing, distributing, or licensing the work elsewhere.
Editorial Review
Comics Authority may accept or reject any submission and is not required to provide an explanation. Submission does not guarantee publication, promotion, payment, sales, downloads, or future opportunities.
Digital Editions
Creators may request that approved digital editions be offered as free downloads, paid downloads, or both, where supported by the Comics Authority platform.
Paid digital downloads are governed by the separate Creator Sales & Earnings Agreement, which covers pricing, platform fees, payment processing, refunds, chargebacks, taxes, and creator payouts.
Print Editions
Print editions may only be offered by creators who can fulfill orders to United States shipping addresses. Customers pay the shipping amount shown at checkout. Creators must ship print orders within three business days unless Comics Authority approves another arrangement in writing.
Comics Authority may establish listing requirements, fulfillment standards, shipping procedures, and customer-service expectations for print editions. Financial terms relating to print sales are governed by the Creator Sales & Earnings Agreement.
AI Disclosure
You agree to accurately disclose the use of AI tools. You remain responsible for compliance with copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, contract, and other applicable laws.
Physical Print Verification
If a creator requests a print edition listing, Comics Authority may require a physical review copy before the print edition is made available for sale. The review copy is used to confirm that the printed comic exists and reasonably matches the submitted cover, description, page count, and edition information.
Comics Authority will provide shipping instructions after approval. A print edition will not be listed until the requested review copy has been received and verified. The creator is responsible for the cost of sending the review copy.
Promotion Responsibilities
Comics Authority provides a publishing and discovery platform for creator-owned comics but is not a marketing agency. Comics Authority may feature accepted work on its website, newsletters, social media channels, YouTube channels, promotional videos, livestreams, or publications such as 5084 Magazine, but no level of promotion is guaranteed.
Creators remain primarily responsible for marketing and promoting their own work. Acceptance does not guarantee homepage placement, featured status, social media promotion, newsletter inclusion, YouTube coverage, magazine publication, or any minimum number of downloads, sales, or revenue.
Prohibited Material
You may not submit stolen, unlawful, infringing, hateful, deceptive, malicious, or otherwise prohibited material. All submissions must comply with the Acceptable Content Policy.
Removal and Suspension
Comics Authority may remove, suspend, restrict, or decline to publish work when credible legal, ownership, fulfillment, payment, safety, fraud, quality-control, or policy concerns arise.
Creator Sales & Earnings Agreement
Creators who enable paid digital downloads or print sales must also accept the Creator Sales & Earnings Agreement before those products may be offered for sale.
If any provision of the Creator Sales & Earnings Agreement conflicts with this agreement regarding commissions, fees, refunds, chargebacks, taxes, payment processing, or payouts, the Creator Sales & Earnings Agreement controls for those financial matters.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Comics Authority, its owner, operators, contractors, and service providers harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your submission, your conduct, your fulfillment obligations, or your breach of this agreement.
Changes to This Agreement
Comics Authority may update this agreement. Material changes will apply prospectively and will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued participation after the effective date of an updated agreement may require renewed electronic acceptance.
Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and applicable United States law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
